CHICAGO, May 1, 2019 (Newswire.com) – First Stop Health LLC now provides its members with access to Enhanced Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Counseling that is just a phone call or a few clicks away. First Stop Health’s new Enhanced EAP Counseling expands its suite of virtual care services by supporting members’ mental health needs.
According to National Institute of Mental Health statistics, nearly 44 million Americans or one in five adults live with a mental illness. Additional data indicates that 24 million, or 56 percent, of adults with a mental illness receive no treatment.
First Stop Health members whose employers sign up for Enhanced EAP Counseling now have access to a national network of licensed counselors to help members when they need it most. Members receive guidance and counseling with various issues, including marital and family concerns, alcohol and drug use, stress, anxiety, grief, depression and other emotional issues. By adding Enhanced EAP Counseling, First Stop Health is reaffirming its dedication to becoming the First Stop for HealthSM for its members.
“Everything we work to provide at First Stop Health is about our members’ quality of experience and convenience,” said Patrick Spain, CEO and co-founder of First Stop Health. “And because members with mental health issues utilize physical health benefits at three times the rate of members without these issues, our Enhanced EAP Counseling will decrease the overall costs of healthcare services for them and their employers.”
First Stop Health members can schedule telephonic and in-person appointments with licensed counselors. If a member requires further attention, our counselors refer that member to in-person care from behavioral providers who, when possible, are in the member’s healthcare plan.
First Stop Health partners with American Behavioral, an Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) company, to provide Enhanced EAP Counseling to its members.
