Providence’s new CEO spotlights transformation office in 2025 roadmap
Erik Wexler has begun his tenure as the new president and CEO of Renton, Wash.-based Providence by articulating his vision of the path ahead for the 51-hospital health system.
Mr. Wexler is succeeding Rod Hochman, MD, who retired at the end of 2024 after 45 years in healthcare, including 17 with the Providence family of organizations. Previously, Mr. Wexler served as COO of Providence.

Providence Orange County network contracts with Health Net Ambetter HMO and PPO for Individual & Family Plans
We are excited to announce that individuals and families will again have access to the Providence Orange County health network through our new partner, Health Net Ambetter, effective January 1, 2025.
Beginning Nov. 1, 2024, both Health Net Ambetter HMO and PPO plans will be available for this open enrollment season through Covered California and directly through Health Net. We are very excited as this is a three-year agreement, ensuring plan stability though December 31, 2027.

Anthem Blue Cross and Sutter Health Announce New Contract Agreement
Anthem Blue Cross (Anthem) and Sutter Health (Sutter) announced that they have come to an agreement on terms for a new contract, effective Jan. 1, 2025, that provides Anthem members with continued in-network access to Sutter’s integrated system of comprehensive, high-quality care throughout Northern California and into the Central Coast including Santa Barbara. The agreement applies to Anthem Blue Cross members enrolled in Medi-Cal, Medicare Advantage, HMO, EPO and PPO health plans and provides continued in-network access to Sutter Health providers and facilities.
The agreement allows patients to keep their in-network doctors and care centers through Sansum Clinic.
Anthem will be mailing letters to members and to the associated agent, client, and brokers to advise them of the renewed agreement.
