California Governor Brown has announced the following appointments:
Marta Green, 35, of Rocklin, has been appointed chief deputy director at the California Department of Managed Health Care, where she has served as deputy director of communications and planning since 2012. Green served in multiple positions at the California Health and Human Services Agency from 2010 to 2012, including associate secretary of media relations and assistant associate secretary of health care reform. Green was assistant director of external affairs at CaliforniaVolunteers from 2007 to 2010 and was acting assistant associate secretary at the California Health and Human Services Agency from 2006 to 2007. She was a senior information officer at the California Department of Rehabilitation from 2005 to 2006 and served in multiple positions at the California Department of Transportation from 2000 to 2005, including information officer and right-of-way agent. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $124,872. Green is registered without party preference.
Patricia Kinnard, 63, of Sacramento has been appointed special assistant at the Office of the State Librarian. Kinnard has been a staff services analyst at the California State Library since 2008, where she was an office technician from 2005 to 2008. She served as an executive secretary at the California Department of Transportation in 2007 and was a clerk at American River College from 2004 to 2005. Kinnard was a librarian at Cordova Garden Elementary School from 2000 to 2005 and a library clerk at Cordova High School from 1999 to 2000 and at Peter J. Shields Elementary School from 1995 to 1999. This position does not require senate confirmation and the compensation is $58,848. Kinnard is a Republican.
